Mechanical Engineering Lecturer – Institute of Technology

Salary: £35,000–£42,000 (dependent on experience)
Pension: Up to 28% Teacher Pension
Hours: Full-time (flexibility considered)
Contract: Permanent

The Role:
Deliver engaging, industry-relevant teaching across Mechanical Engineering disciplines
Teach both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory
Support, mentor, and assess apprentices and vocational learners
Supervise engineering projects and contribute to programme delivery
Collaborate with employers to enhance real-world learning experiences
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and excellence

Your Expertise Should Include:
Manual & CNC Turning and Milling
CNC Machine Operation and Programming
3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing
Engineering Drawing and CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
PLCs, Wiring, and Electrical Circuit Testing
Pneumatics and Fluid Power Systems

Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s desirable)
Experience working within the engineering industry
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing future engineers
Experience delivering Level 2 and 3 EAL apprenticeships or vocational training (desirable)
Understanding of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning (desirable)
